CurriculumStudents are expected to complete their secondary schooling in five years starting from Form One until Form Five. Once they are in Form Three, it is compulsory for them to sit for the Lower Secondary Assessment Examination (PMR). Two years later, they are expected to sit for the Malaysian Certificate of Examination (SPM), which is equivalent to ‘O’ Level.The SPM examination is regarded as crucial to the students’ future because it will determine whether they are qualified to further their studies at any matriculation centers or other institutions of higher learning. |
ExaminationsIt is compulsory for the first, second and third formers to take at least eight examination subjects and three electives. Meanwhile, the fourth and fifth formers will take nine or ten examination subjects. The medium of intruction for the teaching is Bahasa Melayu. At the same time, English and other foreign languages are taught as subjects. But starting from the year 2003, Mathematics and Science are taught in English.The prospect of studying abroad through government-sponsored scholarship is determined by the students’ performance in the examinations. |
